Ok, gang, this is what I have been waiting for the official orders. I was getting a little nervous, not having them and training is only 2 weeks away. So here's the deal:
Got my Navy Orders!
1. Report to ODS officer school 18 Aug
2. Report to Chaplain school in September3. Report to San Diego in November4. Join up with the LHA-6 AMERICA and crew in Pascagoula, Mississippi in January.The ship is to be commissioned in March, where is To Be Determined. Then, the USS AMERICA will make its way to its homeport in San Diego, (which should be a great trip!)
In the meantime, I was just on a week silent retreat. I was really affirmed that I am going on mission like St. Peter and the Apostles to spread the Good News.
I have been running or exercising almost everyday, trying to get my body fat down to the required 22%. Right now I am about 27%. Ugh.
I am getting excited to finally be getting close to starting. I having been waiting since December when I was accepted!
So, now I am really doing my final packing and getting various details ready. Also, I have been visiting people - that has been great.
